Sat Dharam Kaur, N.D.

Sat Dharam graduated in 1989 from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine with awards in homeopathy and psychology. She holds both B.Sc. and B.A. degrees from the University of Guelph and a diploma in fine art from the Ontario College of Art. Sat Dharam was awarded the “Naturopathic Doctor of the Year” award by the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors in 2000 for her work in breast cancer prevention and environmental education.   

Her private practice addresses the needs of all ages and types of ailments, including digestive complaints, hormonal imbalances, skin afflictions, allergies, immune system weakness, asthma, cancer, arthritis, headaches, pain syndromes, fertility issues and women's health.

Sat Dharam developed the Healthy Breast Program in an effort to educate women in naturopathic ways to prevent and treat breast cancer. She has taught the Healthy Breast Program to patients and the public since 1996 and lectures regularly at The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine on breast health and stress management. She presented the Healthy Breast Program at the first, second and third world conferences on Breast Cancer in 1997, 1999 and 2002, and at conferences around the world. As well as the breast health program, she has developed a yoga-based addiction recovery program called Beyond Addiction, which she has taught with Dr. Gabor Maté in Vancouver and Toronto, and trains others to teach internationally. She has also created a Four Season Yoga Cleanse, which currently runs in Owen Sound, Toronto and online.      

Sat Dharam has studied Kundalini Yoga with Yogi Bhajan since 1976 and has facilitated teacher training programs in Toronto, Nelson, Canmore, Ottawa, Owen Sound, Cambridge and New Mexico. The popular and transformative 220-hour Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training Program runs in Toronto annually. She is sought after to teach Level two teacher training programs internationally. Yogi Bhajan called Sat Dharam a "teacher of teachers and healer of healers".

She has been a guest instructor at the summer Kundalini Yoga Festival in France, at 3HO Women’s Camps in New Mexico, at the Toronto and Vancouver Yoga Shows between 2004 - 2014 and the Toronto Yoga Festival 2008. She has travelled and taught Kundalini Yoga workshops in Peru, Chile, Madrid and Ecuador.

Becky Thorne

Becky graduated in 2013 from DevaTree School of Yoga’s 100-hour Children’s Yoga Teacher Training. She then completed an additional 200-hour training with DevaTree in 2015 to become a fully certified yoga teacher.  Becky loves sharing yoga with humans of all ages, but has a special affinity for teaching children and youth.

She brings to her teaching over 20 years’ experience working with children, youth and families in a variety of helping roles.  Yoga has allowed her to use her skills as a counsellor and teacher in a way that truly supports individuality, self-acceptance and joy. She looks forward to sharing her fun, lighthearted and playful classes at Trillium Studio.

Frances Brown

Frances Brown began practicing mindfulness meditation in 2004 and furthered her studies during week-long retreats with Shinzen Young as well as a 3 month silent retreat in a Burmese monastery. She returned in 2007 from a 6 month term in India with Mother Theresa's Missionaries of Charity, helping the sick, poor and dying. After her return from Burma and India, she began teaching Mindfulness Meditation to beginners at the Trillium Healing Arts Centre in 2008.  Every other month she leads a 1/2 day Meditation retreat to those who are interested in deepening their practice.  She can also teach individuals or groups who are unable to attend scheduled sessions at the Centre.  Mindfulness Meditation provides an opportunity to bring balance and focus to one's life.  The meditation techniques help to reduce stress, be present in the moment and allow individuals to become in tune with mind, body and spirit.

Har-Prakash Khalsa

Har-Prakash Khalsa has been teaching yoga and meditation since 1985. Beginning as a student of Zen meditation, Har-Prakash went on to become a certified Kundalini Yoga instructor and teacher of Mindfulness meditation. Har-Prakash's specialties include a knowledge of meditation techniques and the process of enlightenment from the contemplative Christian, Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist and scientific perspectives.

Hayley Mundy

Hayley Mundy is a long-time resident of Owen Sound where she has lived, worked and raised 2 daughters since 1989. She began practicing Kundalini Yoga in 2011 and became fascinated with its variety and ability to heal on many levels – physically, mentally, and spiritually. This sparked an interest in learning more about this sacred science that led to her becoming a certified Level 1 Teacher of Kundalini Yoga, as taught by Yogi Bhajan. She has found Kundalini Yoga to be a unique and beautiful practice and is excited to share it with others.

Heather Hartford

Heather has experienced a lifetime of spine dis-ease including scoliosis, spinal stenosis, neuropathy, degenerative disc disease, compressed discs, and radicular pain. Heather under went extensive spine surgery in 2007. It was only when Heather began practicing Kundalini Yoga in 2013 that she became pain free for the first time. Heather became a certified Kundalini Yoga Instructor in 2014 and is excited to share this ancient technology with others.

A native of Grey-Bruce Heather has also studied Social Work, English Literature, Infant and Child Development, Infant Mental Health, Trauma Assessment & Treatment.

Kati Gleiser

Kati Gleiser is a world-renowned Concert Pianist, having performed and taught across the globe, including performances at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and on NPR. She regularly appears as a guest artist at the Sweetwater and Kincardine Music Festivals. Kati holds a Doctorate in Piano Performance from Indiana University, studying with world renowned pianist and pedagogue Menahem Pressler, of the Beaux Arts Trio. Kati is passionate about holistic living and optimal self-care, and studies permaculture, medical herbalism, basket weaving, and felting. She apprentices with Sat Dharam Kaur, having recently completed the Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training Level 1. In June 2017, Kati will teach at the World - renowned festival Spirit Weavers, in Oregon, USA.

Lisa Ruddy

Lisa has been practicing yoga for over 5 years and recently graduated from Discovery Yoga’s Kripalu 200 hour teacher training.

Whitnee Denard

Whitnee Denard is an experienced Kundalini yoga instructor based in Owen Sound, Ontario.  Whitnee received Level 1 certification through the Kundalini Research Institute and is currently working on her Level 2 certification.  Whitnee has also completed the Healthy Breast Yoga Program and the Radiant Child Program.  She is a member of the International Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association and a certified gong instructor.

Working under the close guidance of Dr. Sat Dharam Kaur, Whitnee has completed her training as a Beyond Addiction instructor and is qualified as an Associate Trainer. In this role, Whitnee helps to facilitate community recovery programs in Owen Sound and Toronto and online sessions with participants from around the world.

Whitnee has extensive experience working as an independent freelance yoga instructor at the community and corporate level.  Through her teachings and travels to India, she has gained experience working with students at all different levels of their yoga journey.  Her passion for yoga as a healing technique stems from her personal experience with the transformative powers of the sacred practice.  Her goal is to uplift students through the joy of yoga, music and self-empowerment.
